Title:-To study the activity of vata
dosha under physiological and pathological states by employing various
mechanical and chemical stimuli.
Dr. U. B. Mardikar her dissertation
for P.G. degree M.D. (Sharir Kriya). Her guide was Dr. J. K. Borde & Research
center was Tilak Ayurved Mahavidyalaya, Pune (M.S.), India.
Dr. Mardikar had done an experimental research to study
activity of vata dosha in animal models. For this research adult albino mice of both sex and weighing
30-32 gm. were used. Animals were acclimatized for laboratory condition for 7
days. These animals were feed specific food made up from wheat flour, wheat
bran, edible oil, sugar etc.
Different groups of animal
were prepared and observation were noted as follows –
I)
Control
continuous activity for forty minutes of mice under normal laboratory
conditions in morning.
II)
Continuous
activity of mice in morning, afternoon & late afternoon.
III)
Continuous
activity of mice in 24 hr.
IV)
Modification of
activity after physical stimuli.
V)
Modification of
activity after chemical stimuli.
Research concluded as follows-
1) Vata function can be recorded in Albino mice experimentally which is useful
for diagnostic and prognostic function.
