Title : Koshta Pariksha va Doshaprakruti sambadha ek abhyas. (Relation
of Koshtha & Biotype)
Dr. M.A. Khandare submitted her dissertation to Pune
university in 1995 for the P.G. degree M.D.( Sharir Kriya ). Her guide was Dr.
R. Vaze. Research center was Tilak Ayurved Mahavidyalaya, Pune.
This dissertation is in Marathi local language, Dr.
Khandare had tried to see correlation in between constitution & Colonic
sensitivity ( Koshtha ) 100 volunteers were registered for this project by
interrogation, nature of the stool was noted accordingly diagnosis of koshtha (
Colonic sensitivity) was noted. This koshtha was then confirmed by administering
purgative & recording its effect.
For purgation shweta Nishottar powder 1.5 gm was given in
capsulated form (3 Capsules) stat.
Research work was concluded as follow -
I)
75% similarity
was found in predominance of dosha & constitution & in stool nature.
II)
85% Similarity
was found in predominance of dosha in constitution & in koshtha.
III)
75% Similarity
was found in the diagnosis of koshtha done with stool nature & with effect
of purgatives.
IV)
Hence diagnosis
of koshtha can be done stool nature.
a) Vata
constitution – Krura Koshtha (Hard) – Dry, Hard stool.
b) Pitta constitution
– Mrudu Koshtha (soft) – Watery, semisolid nature.
