Title:
Measurement of range of Ushna guna (Ushna mukha) in pitta prakruti people of
age group 40 to 50.
Dr. R. Lonare, Submitted his dissertation to Pune University
for the P.G. degree M.D. (Sharir Kriya) His guide was Dr. N.D. Dhargalkar. Research
center was Tilak Ayurved Mahavidyalaya, Pune.
This research is a attempt to correlate the physical
feature ushna mukha (high temperature in the oral cavity) with pitta Prakruti.
150 Volunteers were selected from the age group of 40-50, 3 groups A, B, C each
of 50 volunteers were done with vata pradhan constitution group, pitta pradhan
constitution group, & kapha pradhan constitution group. All volunteers were
instructed to remain NBM (Nil by mouth) 1 hour before recording oral
temperature. Volunteers should not change their daily routine. Temperature was
taken twice a week for one whole year.
The thesis had put forth following statements in the
form of discussion & conclusion-
1)
There is obvious tendency of pitta constitution of
people for higher oral temperature.
2)
Only charak compendia had explained the
features of constitution on the basis of guna ( attributes)
3)
All these
attributes must be working synergy.
4)
How many of seven
characters are present in pitta constitution of people with predominance of ushna
guna? The answer will be depending on another predominant dosha accompanying main
predominant pitta dosha.
5) How to
differentiate the character ‘Sukumar
avdata Gatra’ (Delicate body frame) of kapha & pitta constitution people?
Ans-
pitta constitution people will show ushna mukha, ushna asahatva (heat
intolerance) and will show less hair on head or baldness, these features will
absent in kapha constitution people.
