Title:-A study of memory with reference
of dosha prakruti.
Dr. V. R. Veer submitted her dissertation to Pune University
in 2002 for the P.G. degree M.D. (Sharir Kriya). Her guide was Dr. Nandini
Dhargalkar & Research center was Tilak Ayurved Mahavidyalaya, Pune
(M.S), India.
Dr. Veer has tried to correlate the memory and
constitution. She has made 3 groups of volunteers having age group 20 -25
years. Each group was of 30 volunteers.
Group A, B & C belonged to vata, pitta and kapha
predominant constitution.
Three groups were tested with Wechsler Memory Scale and their scores were recorded.
Research concludes as follows –
i)
67% of persons
were from average memory group.
ii)
People of all
constitutions have an average memory.
iii)
But still in that average group also kapha
constitution people ranks first and vata, pitta constitution have less M.Q.
iv)
As far as relation between M.Q. and dosh prakruti is concerned,
only predominant dosha can not play important role but secondary or anubandha
dosha is also very important.
v)
Ayurvedic memory
concept is described in broad view which includes description of short term as
well as long term memory.
vi)
Wechsler Memory
Scale is particularly useful for short Term Memory
